I feel your pain completely. Need a down payment for my house sell some cars, need a new family vehicle sell some cars, need a new computer sell.....well you get the idea. I have finally just realized that there will never be enough money for daily life if I sell my stuff or not.

So now the cars stay. CC comes out. We will just have to move to a smaller house with a bigger hobby room.

I know your feeling Mike. I have like five different car projects.... and really only enough resources to devote to 1... at best. I also keep getting enticed by new projects. Then I spend to pick those up, when I could have put the money toward getting what I NEEDED for one of the others. Hope you can keep at least ONE runner! I'm trying to whittle my stuff down to just 1 runner for me, and one for each of the kids. Hope things turn around for you someday soon.

I defentaly feel your pain, I had two Losi Pro se's I built just to sell them for next to nothing. I quit all together for several months, just walked away. now my head is clear I am going to unload everything I dont have to have and get what I truely want. and I think I am going for NIB from now on. it cost to much to build it from parts.

I feel your pain Rick. I keep happening upon a hammered roller, put lots of love sweat and tears back into them and get next to nothing. But it is the only way to keep the RC fund alive...eventually the diminishing returns will catch up with me, then a keeper may get sold.

Mike, it doesnt get better...I have a 15 year old "hoover"...we bring groceries into the house and he "hoovers" them up before we get through the week. Our food bill has been increasing every week...now with 3 weeks off school...yikes :!:

JK thats how I keep my fund alive also, but I wish I would have kept a few of them, that cant be replaced. dont get me wrong they can be, but just not on my budget. at one time I had a stash of parts I would kill for now,but they all got used up reselling to get super clean cars as keepers then some of them even had to go. but I am not complaining to much I still have a nice lot of cars. and Tax time I will be haveing at least two NIP new Losi's.

I learnt that lesson in the early 2000's mate!! Thats why I pretty much have most of my most "wanted" cars NIB.

I remember adding up the cost of building a half decent RC10 not so long ago from parts, and damn me if I could not get nearly 2 NIB ones for the same money. I know its different strokes for different folks, and that there is alot of satisfaction to be had "restoring" the car you have - but sometimes it just aint practical either. Some people have a warped sense of what "restoring" is too!! Restoring is taking what you have and cleaning it up etc using the same parts or repairing them. Too many of us turn a "restore" into building a new car!!    I am as guilty as anyone out there for this too!

As for selling cars to progress other areas of your life - I think we can all relate. I recently sold off quite a bit of my collection of NIB's and parts - but to be honest - the other things that I have replaced them with give me just as much joy and m bring me closer to my family. Its all about balance - and sometimes I think we all go just that little bit too far with our obsession!

Cheers

Darryn
