What class / classes of R/C is your R/C Class of Choice

So I know many of us know one another fairly well, but maybe not so with others. I thought maybe if I try and start a thread, we might be better able to help one another with advice or parts. Also it may help some of the newer guys to find someone to ask for help or other information.

So I will give it a shot:

My R/C Classes of Choice are in order,

1/10 235mm Pan Cars
1/12 6 cell Pan Cars
1/8 On-road (been out for too long, getting back in)

Regards,
Maurice

I pretty much run whatever has racing classes in the area, and this changes based on where I live, which tracks close (many) and which ones open (not many :( ) and so on so forth...

Currently running indoor electric in the winter
- 2WD mod (B4.1)
- DTM 10.5 (Xray T3)

And gas in the summer
- 8th offroad (MBX6)

All classes have their pros and cons... It's a cyclic thing I'd say, at the end of the outdoor seasons I'm usually super happy to go race "clean" cars, and when spring comes back, I can't wait to get the .21's started :)

modern:
2wd mod, b4 ft
mod truck, rc10t w/updates (just finished builing this truck, last time i raced mod truck i had a jrxt  , it's been a while)
monster truck, cpe terminator clod (just finished this one up too, hoping to enter it in next years rc mt challenge)

vintage:
2wd, 5 link jrx2 and goldpan ce, i usually run the jrx2, i love that car.
truck, same rc10t i race in mod truck just w/ 17.5 motor.
classic, manta ray
entry level, modded grasshopper

i'd love to get back into dirt oval, it's may favorite class. finding an indoor properly banked dirt oval is like not going to happen around here.

I've pretty much run the whole spectrum of cars over the years, both electric and nitro, so my experience varies.
My current stable has been trimmed down to:
Associated TC4
Losi Mini T Pro
Associated RC10 (6gear)

As far as my racing favorite:
2WD buggies or sprint cars on a dirt oval...
(I'm too bad of a driver to run anything else.)

New guy here…

I just recently got back into RC racing after a fifteen + year hiatus. I’ve had an itch to get back into racing for a while, the opening of a new hobby shop w/ indoor off-road track (6 miles from home) was all it took.

My favorite classes were:
1/12 On-Road Carpet 4-Cell
1/8 On-Road Nitro

Currently Racing:
1/10 2wd Stock 17.5 Buggy

For racing:
Stock Slash (very close racing, all about staying clean and finding the fast line)
Mod stadium truck (T4)
Vintage (on the rare occasion other bring theirs)

I am going to try 2wd mod next year (I've been building a FT B4.1).

By class / classes I am assuming the OP meant 4-wheeled toy, but lately I've been on flying kick again. The micros are just incredible... I have a J3 Cub and a Night Vapor, both blasts to fly in the local gym. I also have been playing with the MSR heli, while my kids fly the MCX. Then there's our crawlers.
Basically anything with a remote is my weakness.

It's funny how many people (especially on this vintage forum) have that exact same story. :P
For me:

Offroad
  • 1) 1/10 2WD buggy *carpet offroad*
    2) 1/10 4WD buggy *carpet offroad*
    3) I might try 1/8 ebuggy next summer
Onroad
  • 1) GT2 TC (rubber tires/21.5/vta gearing...)
    2) M-Chassis

My classes of choice don't exist any more, you can't recapture those magic days.

2wd gas with my RC300 (a stomach full of butterflies on the driver's stand.)

1/10 pan car with a Bolink Eliminator vs. a field of 10L's ( and "Gearbox" class with a converted RC10 gold pan as a second class.)

Thats cool, thats how I got into racing. 2wd IC 1:8 pan is still around, although mainly in europe. Motonica, Contact, BRX, and WRC make new 2wd 1:8 Pan cars. Hope this gets you back into it.
