a guy offered me this car, & said to make him a fair offer. but I dont realy know whats a fair offer...
I think he has an idea what its worht or has a price in mind.. & I dont want to low ball the guy & make him mad...

Guess im on my own... Ill just go look & try to make a n offer & see what happens.

There are a good number of Fox's which have been (some are still currently being) sold on Ebay so you can check the prices there as Besty says. They range from almost newly built to very well bashed, so you can get a fair idea.

Suffice to say, don't be sold by the "it's extremely rare" line which seems to be used whenever anyone is selling vintage gear. To be honest, the standard Fox parts are not that rare and come up on Ebay with fair regularity. If you want to experience the build process, I'd recommend buying up all the required new-in-bag parts on Ebay and then building one. In a couple of months or so, I'm sure you would have had the opportunity to buy all the required parts and you'll be able to create a new-build...

As a Fox Fan for the past 20yrs all i will say is they are starting to reach higher prices as tamiya is re re almost most of their other models. Fox fans are now realizing that a re re of the FOX is not going to happen.

Rear arms are a problem and a new set go for over $40 a set.

A bloke here has had some CNC out of a stronger plastic.

Best tamiya 2wd in the 80's. Awesome to drive.

The rear arms do seem to be the weakest part (and the most scarce/expensive to replace). Stronger plastic rear arms would be very useful indeed.....

Just thought Id ask so I dont way over pay or offenfd the guy...

I know about checking ebay & all, but this is a time sensitive offer... I know for a fact there are 2 other local collectors theat are behind me wating to buy this car...
I havent seen it in person, but its supose to be like brand new & only driven 1 time for less than couple minutes with no scratches anywhere..

i dont think anyone will get upset about it in this manor ur just buying not trying to peddle of ur junk on someone else... good luck buddy i hope u get it i always liked the fox.

Thanks for that. Much appreciated. I've pm'd the guy in the hope that he has a set left. Agree that they aren't cheap but they would be perfect for a high-powered runner....

Yes it;s on the Tamiya club. Under my Fox restore. Looked ok in the photos.

I have 2 sets of him. They not cheap but are very well made.

The CNC guy was very expensive to hire and are done by a CNC Specialist who does R/C too in the U.S.A.

I no longer have any breakages on my fox and i run a 1t quad mod.

Another guy here has a 5.5 brushless which is just insane to say the least. Oh he has those CNC arms too.

I cant log in to the tamiyaclub site anymore... Ive tryed contacting them repedety & never hear back.
tryed to even make a new acount with a new email & still no luck. So I gave up on them. Thats when I found this site.

If I might forward an idea of which might counter others.

While this car has not been re-released by Tamiya 'YET' I would not rule it out completely. Who would have thought the Avante would ever get done again?

Seriously, I would say to the guy selling that you dont wish to offend him but you aren't 'made of money' but are passionate about getting into the Fox. Surely the guy has a ball park?

I was thinking that a Fox rere was probably a cold day in he11 chance. Weren't there a couple of "Knockoff" foxes from Taiwan or something.. The big T never made anything else on that chassis, my theory was that they sold the molds to someone in China or Taiwan or something...
