Old School Novak T1 - for the win

I recently raced my RC10 at a club race. I took my fully decked out goldie, all modern electronics, brushless w/boost 17.5 motor, lipo, spektrum...full tilt racer. Pushed like a dump truck. So I grabbed my back up car, my powdercoated black car. Novak T1, blue can Monster 27T stock motor. Tossed in my lipo & spektrum receiver and hit the track (oh, Futaba 3003 servo). TQ and the win in stock buggy...

I didnt do as good with my Mod racer, 13X2 and Cyclone TC2 speedo...4th overall

Either way, both cars performed flawlessly. But they will give way to brushless, I dont have a lathe or any of the stuff to maintain the old brushed motors anymore. They will retire to basher duty until the finally die.

5400 Mah & 6 minute races...not an issue. I repeak them after each heat. They were taking about 1200 stock, 1500 modified.

my son's T4 with 17.5 brushless was using about 800-850 per heat. he uses a 3200 20C pack (very low end by todays standards). I must admit, Lipos are probably one of the best investments I have made in the past 20+ years of racing.

On the original topic, I always had great luck with my T-4 speed control. Later I swapped to the T-1X. They both still work!

That T1 brings back some really good memories. I had several of them, and you could run the snot out of them!

I have on on my 12L Shelfer...

BITD, I ran 10 cells on my 12L through one... It held up for a long time. And then I had to turn.
