RPM #7027 RC10T Rear Carrier Bearing Width?

Hey dudes,

Just wondering if anybody could tell me exactly what the width of these bearings needs to be for these carriers. The stock 10T carrier bearings are 1/8 wide, but nobody seems to make 1/4 id x 1/2 od x 1/8 wide bearings for RC applications, only 3/16 wide. Anybody who has these carriers installed and could measure the width of the bearings on their truck or knows how wide the RPM bearings are would be very helpful. :)

Thanks

The ones I've got take 3/16" wide bearings. You're talking about the ones with the ball stud hole very close to the bearing right?

my bagged rpm bearings are 3/16" as are my replacements for them from AVID.

the bearings are wider than the smaller ones, but they are placed closer together so the outer thickness of the assembly remains roughly the same. This means that you cannot use the stock axle spacers between the bearings.

It has been a while since I did it, but I believe I used a single spare 3/16x5/16 bearing and 2 3/16 thin axle shims as a spacer.
using the spacers between the bearings prevents side-loading the bearings and allows you to tighten down the wheels without worrying about binding.

Sweet....thanks again guys 4 ur help.

Acon: I'm using a MIP 1/4" 10T Shiny CVD kit between the new bearings & RPM carriers so I'll be using those shims I guess...

Got the 1/4 x 1/2 bearings from AVID, and they fit perfectly....
