Personally, I would get the Phoenix rear wheels, use a body reamer to open them up ever so slightly to fit the 1/4" tapered axles and the duratrax front wheels. Run the car box stock with just those 2 changes. If I hadnt invested so much into B4 wheels all around already, I would be doing that exact set up.

You could run "standard" MIP CVDs, stock Universals or the stock Dogbone/Axle combo.

If you really dont want to modify the rear wheel (I did it for a buddy, truly took about a minute each wheel), B2/B3 CVDs, change the bearings and bolt the Phoenix wheel right on.

I dont know about the Phoenix CVD/Universals.

I was lucky enough to find 2 donor cars with Losi (on one) and Houge (on another). I havent had to find current ball bearing offerings that work.

I remember that thread also, using a combination of GT and B3/T3 parts if memory serves me (which it doesnt do very well any more!)

Occasionally, a member here (Atlas) has what appears to be a copy of the Losi ball bearing steering (in gold anno) available for purchase.
