RC10T rebuild, but a question about RPM 8012 steering...

Hey guys,

Just tried to install this RPM 8012 steering kit on my 10T, but the center tubes are loose over the stock 7306 nose screws and the right side screw is too short for a nut on top. I dont have the instructions (if there were any) or packaging cause I bought em off the bay. Are you supposed to repace the nose screws with others or what? Please help. TY

you have to use you have to use a long 8-32 screw like a buggy steering bellcrank. you'll have to put it together to see exactly what length screw you'll need to put a nut on top. probably 1 1/4".

That kit comes with a long 8/32 screw kit, the stock steel kit is only threaded at 8/32 on the bottom where it meets the chassis- I have a kit and I can measure the length later today- but it
is a little longer than the tubes-

Thanx guys.....yea an #3325 8-32 x 1 1/4" would do it for both sides, but is that what RPM recommends you use? Also, are the 3325's blue now? I'd rather not buy them and they be shown gold and get blue ones....

I ordered a pack of the 7/8" screws from RC Planet a few months ago, and they were blue instead of the gold shown on the site at the time.

The blue screws are the same as the older gold screws, but instead of sending them out for two colors of anodizing, they just stopped selling the gold ones. This happens fairly often, and hobby shops and suppliers will usually just find out when they open up the shipping box. The same thing happened when they switched from white parts to black; once they run out of the old stuff they just start shipping the new ones with the same part numbers.

The RPM kit came with a set of long 8-32 screws, but I used whatever long Associated screws the LHS had, for the RC10L front end I believe, as the flathead sat flush with the chassis.
