I am finally unveiling a project that I've been collecting parts for for a good 3 years now. It is far from being finished as I have been also waiting for ages for the main part: a full tube/cage chassis that has been in the works for nearly two years and is still not ready... I lost patience and wanted to go ahead with a good mock up that firstly needed a very thorough cleaning, especially for both MIP trans that were totally blocked with 20 years old grease that was as hard as cement Hopefully, every single inetranl part was in very good shape and I now finally have a fully working and complete MIP SP-2 kit. Besides the MIP trailing arms and the 4wd kit, the car will also feature a lot of other MIP parts like hard-coated shocks, hardened rear outdrives and a front mono-shock set-up to name a few. I also collected a bunch of other cool parts like a NIP Checkpoint motor, Dirt Burners turnbuckles, 4 Losi alloy outer rims, Proline Octigrab tires... that will be presented here soon. Here are a few pictures of the first mock-up, the chassis you see will not be used, but as it was already drilled (pretty badly I must say) for the SP-2 kit, I thought I would use it. I don't know whether the front c-hubs were actually made by MIP, but they are very well machined and fit perfectly. They really look like prototype or very early items and I have yet to see another set.

Thanks for the compliments guys, this one has been in the pipeline forever. Most probably my longest project together with the box art project that still has to be hatched.

Yeah, what is this wood core stuff? My rc10 bitd had a composite chassis that had what I think is a foam core/sandwich but would love more info. Awhile back I found the same chassis on ebay to do a replica build of my old buggy (as the original is long gone). Always wondered the mfg of the chassis as I can't remember who made it bitd. I will try to get pics.

raceco most likely. did it have little red inserts where the 8-32 screws went through?

There will be no body as I am waiting for a powder-coated tuber chassis for it
