Hey guys‚ I have a rc10t3 runnin 3s. It is built for drag and street racing. I have proline speed hawgs on now and fights for traction. Anyone have any ideas on a good traction tire for asphalt? Thanks

I have been checking out the same thing. I have a T4 with speed hawgs on it and they do not grip well at all.

I'm using dirt hawg tires from proline. They give me some pretty decent bite on asphalt

Although I haven't tried them myself, I've heard Traxxas Anaconda tires grip quite nicely.

The best tires I ever ran on my T4 on the street with a 5.5t motor in it were the ProLine Gladiators. Awesome traction on asphalt. Very good wearing too. I have them in my tire bin at home... they still look brand new. They also were very good on hard packed dry/dusty outdoor race tracks. I very much recommend them.
They are much thicker than most offroad truck tires, so they don't balloon as bad as something like Double Dees. You still may want to belt the inside of the tires with tape to prevent them from ballooning during speed runs. It you've never belted tires with tape, be careful... it can be tricky doing it. It's possible to make things worse!
I'd estimate I was just south of 100 kph (60mph) and they were handling the speed just fine. Although, it was tricky keeping the wheels on the ground at that speed... air would get under the body, and want to launch the truck in the air. It was fun, though!

Firm inserts help out tremendously.I usually double up mine to get a more firm handling.Smoother the surface the better to run those speeds.Bumpy street surface to ruff for that speed unless on asphalt.DON

I picked up some of these awhile back and they work pretty good for asphalt. They grip right away instead of having to 'heat up' to the track. I wasn't putting that kind of power to them though...

i 100% agree on the gladiators. I have a set that will put my GT on its top no matter what the surface if i go full boar. I'm not into the top speed, but the tires hold up really well while sliding around on wet pavement and roasting the tires once they loose grip. My pins will normally last a day or two running around on the dirt and grass, yet im still on my first set of gladiators. i dont run my pins on asphalt yet they wear out way faster. They do like to kick up alot of gravel as compared to other tire designs, probably due to how they are shaped. I dont have mine "belted" but they dont balloon as much as other tires i have. They slightly balloon at top speed, but dont turn into "pizza cutters" like my other tires do. Overall i love the tire and tread design, give them a shot, you wont be sorry!

I have ran both Anacondas and the Gladiators, Both on 2s lipo power though.

I found the Anacondas to be fairly decent as long as temps are right, if it was to cold out they would have problems hooking up (asphalt parking lot runs) Temps 60+ they hooked pretty good, I would sometimes spray them with simple green and it would make a drastic improvement when traction was a issue.

The Gladiators IMO are a great tire, plenty of grip on asphalt and great overall tire both on and off-road, at-least in my application tire wear is long lasting, compared to any other combo tires I have run. I am using a M2 compound. And happy with their performance.
