My Box Art restoration

Here is my flea market find restored to its original glory. Found this for $20 about 2 years ago and couldn't pass it up, cleaned it up a bit and put it on the shelf in the garage. Well I found this site and got inspired to retsore it to as clsoe to original as I could. Sure was a lot of fun. FYI its an "A" stamp chassis.
Over the years I probably bought 12-15 RC10's but as they wore out sold them to buy a new racer. All I have left is one converted to a sprint car years ago that I plan on cleaning up a bit also.

How did you complete the shell and decals? And any plans for any others

It's actually a rattle can paint job, I also bought a set of repo decals. Body is from Tower Hobbies. Had to buy the wheel spinners/driving lights and the front sway bar from ebay as they were missing. Rear wing is not correct but was a 20 year old Associated one I still had unopened in my tool box.

Do you have the rattle color cans you used?

No kidding. From what I've read, the original RC10 orange is pretty hard to get right.
Yours looks great!

I'll check colors when I get home. The main body is a Tamiya can, the stripes are all Pactra I believe. I was surprised at how close it came to the original, I had also read how hard it was to duplicate.

OK here are the spray cans I used on this one:
Tamiya PS-19 Camel Yellow main body
Tamiya PS-33 Cherry Red accent stripe
Pactra RC252 Blue Streak accent stripe
Tamiya PS-3 Light Blue accent stripe
Pactra RC251 Sprint White accent stripe
All colors were backed with silver to prevent bleed thru. Overall I'm very happy with how it came out, only mistake was I messed up on the rear wing and put the pink on the bottom instead of the top. Will eventually correct this when I find a correct wing

Looks amazing! Couple questions for you:
1. Where did you get the repro decals?
2. How did you attach the lights on the top? Can you post pics please?

In the Business section on this site look under Squarehead design. Not sure if he has any left but ording was quick and easy and the decals were nice.
The lights wree attached with a self tapping screw into a hole I had drilled. Just be careful you don't drill in too far. I really need another pair but haven't bothered to look. I'm just starting another restoration parts start to soak tomorrow. On this one I'm leaving the body clear so you can see the complete gold chassis
