Ok guys, I've developed a pretty good relationship with someone in the R/C industry, who is on VERY close terms with many important and high-ranking Associated guys.

What this means for us, is that we can get REAL answers about the history of the car, and be sure that the information is 100% accurate.

I'm already planning to ask about the fiberglass battery straps and aluminum Delta-esque shock collars, but if anyone has any other questions on some of the details of the original car or the history, I'd be happy to include them. Post them here and I'll send him a list of the questions to have answered, and I guarantee we'll get the right info back.

Here's a very popular question.

When are they going to start making bodies again? :?

I'll most certainly ask, but with the Thunder Tiger takeover and the move away from existing Associated designs and parts production, I wouldn't hold my breath too long.

To me, those look like gold annodized CRP shock collars that were made for the old Kyosho red shocks rather than the ones made by delta

i wouldn't mind knowing some sort of a timeline for the different changes in the first run of the gold tub. before the wide arm ce. like when they went from the small diameter shock cap seals to the large ones. i'm pretty sure there was 3 different tires during those years that came in the kit. when during production were they put in the kits? when did they change the solid lower spring cups for the slotted ones?

i like knowing that kind of stuff.

Or any other parts for that matter? Should we start buying all old stock from the hobbyshops? :)
