This thread will follow my buildup from an Early Cadillac 6 Gear RC10 in the theme of a FACTORY TEAM (Blue) car, inspired by both my Career as a Ford Master Technician, and the modern marketing of the AE products.

First the white parts, in this shot already cleaned with kitchen detergent before the "whitening treatment" with Hydrogen Peroxide. Seen here, the original owner drilled the chassis for CRP nerf bars and to maintain the purpose of the holes and the cars legacy, I will be reusing them. The chassis holes drilled for larger servos by the original owner will be left in place, and used for the servo blocks.

This is a pre-final build staging of the front suspension showing the contrast of the white parts and the gold shocks against the blue noseplate giving an example of the theme.

edit: I didnt like that the nosepiece was bent. I stripped it back down, and fixed it (see paint process photos later)

Nice build! You need to fit some blue Lohas rims (a la here: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=20207&start=120 ).

Btw, how are you peroxiding the white parts?

Look forward to watching this. I want to build up an all blue RC10 someday. Or Blue and white.

Those parts look great! I wanted my car to have more of a glossy, painted look without the thickness effect that comes with powdercoating. And because I used Easy-off to strip the anodizing, I couldnt reanodize my original parts anyhow. So the blue car motivation is heating up all over! Thats great, I dont feel so different now.

Never heard of that problem? What happened to your parts that you could not re-anno them???

the chemical in easy-off is part of the cocktail they used commercially to strip any oils dirts and previous coatings on aluminum prior to anodizing, so that should not be a problem

The blue nose piece looks great, can't wait to see the finished chassis. Very Nice Nice seeing you this weekend, you are a wealth of RC knowledge.

I work on Fords...three of my four racks are empty at all times...its been years since I have been busy. Ford has the best transmissions out there. In all fairness, a few of our trans are Japanese, and most of the rest are shared with GM There is no such thing really as a Ford or Chevy trans. They share technology now

The active ingredient in Easy Off is sodium hydroxide, I left it on too long.

4 bottles of 3% in a Target purchased shallow rectangle tub. The pieces were flat and not touching, all submerged in direct sunlight. Every 30 minutes I would flip them over, keeping them under. After about 6 hours I took out the servo savers and battery trays. A second full day was all it took. I was not going for colgate white, as thats not original anyhow.

The etching was really deep. Too much elbow grease required (prep costs) So as I wanted to keep the original 3 pieces in my build, I am doing the elbow grease for no pay

If it wasnt an original early Cadillac A stamp, I would have tossed it. Looking forward to a future YOUTUBE video where I blast an "empty" can of Easy Off with my Dad's 12 Gauge using a bird barrel at close range.
