Hi guys

anyone would have the winds of the different LRP "E" series? I have a Pink E and a white E in their period tubes (yummmm) in my motor box that I have absolutely no idea about which winds they are (except if doubles/singles/triples of course). Rotor's aren't marked, of course...

LRP Changed windings more often than product names, so there were several different winds available from same motor name. I have unwinded several LRPs just to find out what they were after the motors got worn out. Below is list what I know:

Pink E: 12*4 , probably also: 12*3
Blue SE: 13*3
Orange AE: 14*3 and 14*4
White E: 15*4
Orenge HE: very very low single something like: 9*1

Early LRP:s were almost all quads or triples, but later they changed most of their wind to doubles like White E from 15*4 to 15*2 etc.

Pics soon to come of my Stealth CE runner with FET1004, M1C, and White E... I had picked this one "by ear" on my T30, and 15 quad is absolutely perfect for a 2wd with lipos!

LRPs were excellent motors for European 5-minute races and quality of motors were very good. US-Based motor manufacturers, Trinity, Reedy, PP etc. made their motors more suited to their own 4-minute races.

"Fun" thing about LRP motors was that motor timing was always 4 (scale was from 0 to 6) no matter how much timing there really was. The can sticker was inserted after the motor was build and tested. Also warm LRP-motors did have their own smell. It was really different than any other motors.

The resound why LRP never spoke about winds was for the racers own god, at least that’s what Jurgen Lautenbach told me when I asked him about it 20 years ago. Instead they recommended gear ratio, I think I have that little gear ratio sheet for the Pink E if you are interested Paul?

Thanks for the info about these LRP motor`s. I have 3 sat in my workshop awaiting rebuilding.

They are a White E, Orange AE and a Pink E all dating from 1992ish. I acquired them along with a Losi JRX2 Pro and a Pro Se.


Also got a few Revolution motor`s from the same period with the Losi`s.

Jurgen Lautenbach is the founder of LRP (Lautenbach Racing Products) if you didn’t know.

such a shame that now LRP rebadges cheap chinese knockoffs as LRP RTR cars while Juergen cruises the city in his F430

The problem these days is everybody wants using brushless so there are no reasons using high quality brushed motors as these are by far to expensive for RTR. I think this goes not only for LRP but other brands too.

I have to say I never was using LRP brushed motors in the past as there were a lot of other better motors.
Of course the motors from the LRP racing team did work but alot of motors what were sold in the shops didn´t work that well and burned alot as the teardowns were not the same quality as other brands.
Back in the days my best motors were Reedy OEM motors sold by UK brand Demon Products. After that when I started a shop selling Losi here I used their Revolution motors what had been my favourite motors for a long time beside some very good peak Performance also.
BTW I don´t think Losi didn´t make the Revolution motors but think these were Trinity OEM motors. Someone has knowledge on this?

Ah Juergen has a F430 currently? Just know he had a 328 for some time.

I ran the 15x4 white E saturday in my CE, with a "modern" gear ratio ca. 8-ish or something. It did great, very smooth powerband (I had enduro brushes on there, that helped), with Novak M1C and lipos, motor was warmish at most... one sweet little quality mill, I really like the "brushed" feeling better!
