Finally got my first 10T...the first version with the white parts and it even came with the thin front wheels :D :D :D I had two others, but I built them for my niece and nephew.

And the best part, $58

I know it could be a great queen once cleaned up because those tires are in fair condition. Since those narrow fronts are included that would give me options for a shelf queen too. I would have to sand the chassis and reanodize it or powder coat it, which is no biggie, but it could make an awesome runner too  what to do with this one :?

I am by no means a shelfbuilder and run pretty much all I own but I vote that be a good shelfer. I've seen your builds and think you could do this one justice. You can always pick up another one with some mods for about the same price and build that one to the hilt and run the snot outta it  .

Nice grab though. Thinkin that was on my watchlist but never went back to check on it.

I am by no means a shelf builder either. In fact the only queens I have are my 2 from when I was a kid that I restored, so they are not even your typical shelf queens. I have many vintage buggies that I run and I'm so torn with this one because it would be soooooo easy to make this one a box are queen. And thanks BTW for saying I have nice builds... I want so bad to have an awesome 10T with white parts as a runner, but this one has good original tires and skinnies too.

Maybe I could sell the wheels to help get some modern electronics to make it a runner

Some photos to show how good of condition it is in. I bit of ware on the ass, but I plan on power coating or re-anodizing it anyway. I'm leaning towards a light runner/shelfer, but not a box art shelf queen. Likely modern wheels and tires, modern electronics and a full resto. The wheels might go up for sale, but I'm debating on weather or not to keep'em for a shelf queen even though they are slightly worn.

Do not sell the wheels, you will regret it later! I purchased a set of narrow front wheels for near the same price you paid for the truck. Don't sell them Dude!

Wow, did you ever get a good deal on that truck!

if I'm going to build a lightly used runner I would be tempted to use the narrow fronts. I would save the wheels for a box art queen in the future. I have an idea of what I want to build, it's going to be a nice build once I get to it.

I'm going to begin with cleaning this one up like I am cleaning up the buggies from the 25 yrs of RC10 project that Rod's up to. I disassembled everything, washed all nylon parts in Simple Green, and then bleached them. I also used Zep to remove the rust from the hardware. I got to rebuild the shocks and tranny. I got to get some new hardware for this one to add a bit of flare and then powder coat the chassis parts.

I got to boil some parts, polish my shafts and pins too, I need to get a 10T body and decals...it will be a while before this one is outfitted with electronics

here is how she looks right now

The nylon parts look great, does the bleach work better or/and quicker than hydrogen peroxide? Also, the ZEP stuff, it chemically removes the rust (no scrubbing needed)? What does it do to black oxide, black phosphorus, or zinc chromate finishes?

Bleach does not do much as far as the whitening is concerned. I tried it before the peroxide trick surfaced. The rustoleum rust remover I used on my metal parts will attack anodizing. I am not sure on the zep stuff but I would use caution with anything that dissolves rust and grease.
