I was on tower looking at shock rebuild parts. Am I ok going with just the red o rings or should I get the kit listed for 4 new shocks with the plastic stuff? Also, saw they would be getting .59 front shocks in april, would those be the proper length for the gold pan front?

Thanks

What kind of shocks: original bottom load or more recent top load? I don't think Tower sells rebuild kits for the original bottom load shocks.

In either case, if the plastic parts clean up well and look okay, I'd just go with just the o-rings. If you don't want to spend $.25 an o-ring and have other shocks to rebuild, you can get 100 o-rings from McMaster-Carr for $4.33, part number 9396K11.

I'm not sure the length of the front shocks. Perhaps someone else can chime in.

I was thinking for either top or bottom load as I have both.

Thanks

The rebiuld kits will work for the bottom loaders just don't need the retainer . Not sure on the .59 shocks. I am thinking the fronts were .56 on the the A stamp and went to .71 when the CE came out.

I think you should get the black oring cap gaskets as well. It may be easiest to just get the kit as I think it includes both the red shaft o-rings and the black cap gaskets.

Is this the kit your referring to http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2593&P=M ? I'm trying to bring my old RC10 back to life and I think the oil is leaking out of the shocks.

Let me know if you bought this and its working for you.
