Painting chassis?

Next quick project is to restore my RC10T. Its going to be for display only so I was wondering if it would be OK to just spray paint the chassis black to hide the wear marks? (its black already) Or would this really ruin it? Bottom is pretty beat up as it took a lot of use but the rest of the truck is in pretty good shape.

I have just painted my T. If you are going to make it a shelfer, paint is an easy way to go. I ran some 800 grit sand paper over the entire chassis making sure to remove any burrs or high spots caused by the gouges. I then used high-build primer and wet sanded. I repeated this process until all the imperfections were filled. Then a few light coats of satin black and it looks great.
