YE OLD CROW!

I just got this disaster off the bay for $21.35. In hindsight I may have overpaid!

But because the Falcon was my very first real rc it has a special meaning for me.
I have been a member here for a few years but have never posted a complete build so this is it. I think it will be the toughest resto yet.
This will be a runner for the 2012 VONATS. My wife is due August 29th so cant make it this year. It will get all the period upgrades including CRP stiffener, drive shafts and bearings. Maybe some better shocks. LiPO power and 2.2 wheels and rubber.
Let the tear down begin.

What do you mean? Those bars holding the chassis together are pure copper! Those alone must be worth 65 cents each.
And what about that vintage Airtronics radio. Pure gold.

My original Hot Shot was that bad as well as covered in grease for some reason.
It took 3 cans of degreaser no Bull.
Good luck.
Keep us posted.

Just tell us the list of part you don't replace. It will be so much shorter!
Good luck!

Sort of reminds me of a story I heard a long time ago about a lady who went to the pound and adopted the ugliest dog there because she knew nobody else would.

I think this car should aptly be dubbed - 'Ye Old Crow' (instead of falcon).
Seriously though, if anyone can love this nasty beast and turn it into a raven beauty then it might as well be you.

Should see my Bigwig, preowned by an even more enthusiastic BushMechanic than yours.
Chassis rejoining involves poprivets, zincalum offcuts, angle alu, epoxy glue & hair of dog.
Even I don't know where to start, so it's still shoved in the shed in the box it arrived in.

Somebody better buy these as I've been debating to for two days now. The thing is I don't have a Falcon but might eventually, and I imagine they're very rare. Though I'm not exactly sure what part they replace. It looks like the rear shock towers?
