there is a local one for around 80 bucks, Looks like a cf chassis, white wheels with 2 screws holding them together with the 2 piece body under and over. I'm not quite sure which era it is from.. It has white control arms, and gold shocks. I thought rc10 when I saw the shocks but then I was like oh belt drive and 4wd. Are these things pretty fun to drive?

hmm the one I'm looking at doesnt have the upper chassis brace that those have, and there seems to be a tensioner in the middle. It has gold shocks as well. Any idea what era that might be?

actually it looks real similar to the bottom one with white wheels. There doesnt seem to be a slipper clutch either,

Can you still get most parts for these older yokes on ebay?

Eventually.... maybe.. I picked up a full set of Andy's arms for a Yok' from a friend about two months ago. At first, I didn't know what they were for, but once I identified them I decided that they couldn't be used for a random project/home built car. I've been contemplating the start of parts collection for one myself, but haven't really decided yet. In the end, I think I will let them go as a Yoe is probably too expensive of an undertaking for me. I'm a no budget builder.

I too would be interested in what the consensus is on these as runners - Are the parts too hard to come by and/or too costly when available to risk it??

I'd say do-it! For sure some individual parts seem to be tricky to get hold of (I've been searching for ages for a new/good rear bulkhead cap) But generally the parts seem no harder to find than for any other discontinued vintage racer... RC10 guys really have it easy due to the sheer quantity of parts out there, with the sharing of components with later buggies & the fact that AE still make/sell many of these parts. I've seen a few Yokes for sale recently that come complete with quite a considerable spares package.... even a 2nd partial spares car... scoring a deal like that would be the ideal way to take one racing

@ airbats801 - its sounds like you might have an 870C (designated YZ-10 in the States) The car with the pink wheels & clear shell in GJW's pictures is this model but with the non-US model shell - the top-deck/brace was an upgrade/later part. The Gold shocks on 'your' car are likely to be RC-10 ones, the original shocks normally got swapped out as they were (ahem) 'shocking'! & leaked badly. As the Yokomo YZ-10 was marketed by Team Associated in the US the gold shocks were the obvious upgrade.

Do you have a background story on those gold rear shocks? I ask because I just received 870C parts lot and a pair of those gold rear shocks are included with the purplish colored fronts.
