BORMAC's brother gets a HOT SHOT

For some time I have always wanted to see my younger bro behind the wheel of his own r/c car.
In his mid 20's my little bro is in to all the kind of stuff you can imagine a young bloke would be in to and r/c has never realy sparked his interest (till now).
A while back I made a trade with Besty and at my end I was left with a nib Hotshot kit. It sat on a shelf for a good 6 months before I finaly decided I should give it to my little bro for him to build. To my suprise he actualy showed a lot of interest in building this car and did a good job of it too.
Sadly he messed the paint job up so badly that he tried thinners and other chemicals to remove the paint only to destroy the lexan in the process.

From here I took over. I stripped it all down, installed some bearings and radio gear. A Hobbywing 3750KV brushless esc and motor went in and a Bluebird digi metal gear servo too. Transmitter is an old Magnum with a Novak receiver.

I had an old left over Hotshot2 shell which I had to paint the outside of. I also trimmed off the side sections to keep with the original looks of the H.S.
Ofcourse no vintage tamiya would be complete without painting in the tyre lettering with white Polycarb paint.

This weekend my bro came up from Sydeny for a few nights and i couldn't wait to show him his new car! He was stoked with it!

Yesterday we met up with besty for a car park shake down by the Umina Beach. It was good to stretch the legs of these cars and all three of us ran a 'shot'.
Today we went down to a local park and put a couple of batteries through his Hotshot and my Boomerang. It was cool to sit back and watch my little bro get into these old cars.

No doubt I reckon he now has the bug and looking forward to some track time down at a Sydney track in the near future.

Hi Paul,
The last is not of me, but my brother. I'm much older and uglier! Lol!

Love it Jason! My brother looks at my obsession with a bit of wonder and interest in the idea but would never go to the point of even attempting to assemble a car. Good on you for bringing yours into the hobby in a positive way! :)
