bearrickster was kind to hook me up with a roller so here it is at the beginning stages
The body isn't really done yet and I still need to source a few items, but I got it running at this point with the spares I had laying around. More to come

haha thanks

I bought a checkpoint $ 19t for the motor which should arrive soon. I think my old Novak t4 may be on it's last legs though. The rest of the old electronics seem to work ok

Planning to upgrade to deans with this one, not sure what else I haven't decided.

Finally finished the body. It's a combo of back-sprayed silver metalflake with 1st surface window-hood-spoiler vinyls and the stock decals all around.
I received the checkpoint $ and it's in as of today - running pretty good. No clue what the gearing/rollout is or should be, but I'm working on it.
VCS micros are on order, but I rigged up some custom ball-end/threaded rod swaybars back there for now. Any further purchases are going on hold until I find out what the track classes are going to be

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it so far

I am glad to hear that, it sure looks good. if I would have known the HPI bodies would fit it I would have kept it and sold one of my other ones.

but I am glad your happy with it.

The hpi bodies are cool especially this 1, but kinda heavy - I need a lighter body
I rammed around with it a bit today and the old skool Novak t4 was struggling to run the $ so I guess I need a new esc or swap the new electronics from "99" noooo

Going to track night on Wed but this won't be ready by then but then again I have no idea what the classes are and what people are running so I guess it doesn't matter at this point

I received the team stand-offs, vcs micros of which are installed now and I swapped the new electronics from the rc12 into this car so it's running waaay better now. I'm only missing 1 other part - the right side nerf bar. Hopefully I'll find that some where and get it on
It seems pretty quick to me with the tazer 12t esc/checkpoint $ 19t combo. It might be geared a bit high for a track, but I think I could mellow it out a bit with a different spur/pinion combo.
I'm planning to do cups for the battery and they're on order, the zip ties aren't cutting the mustard

I did upgrade to nimh for the time being. I may consider 2s lipo, but that will be down the road some since I want to work on the gold pan also.
More photos of course...

Looking good!!!
I slung alot of stick packs out due to worn zip ties. I added one battery tray to the front end, zip tie on the back and have not lost another. Add a nylon nut to the screw for the nerf bar to create a side stop.

I was trying to save weight, but the battery cups are working good

I changed gearing from a 78/20 to a 75/23 and it smoothed it out some without loosing too much off the line - sooo fast waaay cool

They're great motors. I've got a handful of them handed down from a guy that used to run them. Pick up the silver brushes and a set of hard and medium springs and put a hrad spring on the +'ve brush and a medium on the -'ve brush then gear it to the moon
