The "Low-Buck Build-Off" thread got me thinking about starting another build-off, I thought I'd put this out there and see if it would interest some of you. There would need to be some specific parameters to follow, such as:

-Must be a 1/10-scale vintage buggy;

-Must be modified and modernized--not a replica or box-art or resto build;

-Cars would be judged on final appearance, attention to detail, originality and modifications.

Well, today is the deadline to enter 2 money-shots of your contest entry, or at least what you've done thus far. I had a look at the build threads and it looks like some may be withdrawn from competition. I PM'd all the contestants to let everyone know we need some pics or they'll miss the deadline. I'm fine with waiting a week for contestants who wish to stay in the competition to update their build threads with two pictures.

The MMV Challenge began in June and it's now 6 months later, November 30, 2011 (deadline extended due to Canada Post strike causing delays with some participants' projects).

We're down to 6 contestants, alphabetically. Good luck to everyone!

I am in. I need a little motivation to get a certain special project on the move.

Once it is decided where the build threads will be located I will start my thread.

I am interested! I've got the perfect vehicle for this.

I think the build threads should be located in the same section but make it a place that's accessible to everyone, both members and forum guests, so the build information remains available to those looking for ideas and information.

Here's an idea: Each person can create their thread in the appropriate section (some of us have Kyoshos, some AE, some Losi, etc.), then post the LINK to their build thread right here...but let's wait for now. Go ahead and start your threads, and later I (or a moderator) can put all the links into one post in this thread--probably in the first post. Sound cool?

I'm in. I have a new Optima build that I've just started. I should be able to get it done in time.

This is a reminder...one more week to become a contestant and let the games & mods begin. The first 10 "entries" received by next Friday June 17, midnight central time, will be the contestants.

I think it's easiest to just create your thread in the appropriate section for your brand of car, and just put "MMV Challenger: Blahblahblah" for the topic title. Mine will say "MMV Challenger: Project Barney Optima Build" or something.

Count me in this is a good reason to get off my butt, and finish my buggy.
