The past couple of days have been nuts for me! This week-end our unit held an event to raise money for wounded soldiers, it consisted of over 50 teams spin-cycling for 24 hours straight and the event raised over $75K.

I was 'asked' to handle all the comms, networking, programming and data terminals. Luckily I had a great crew and we pulled it off. The big surprise was that the Chief of Defence Staff presented me with a stunning CDS Commendation Coin. That was unexpected and really blew my socks off.

Today I was asked to attend a Grad Parade and during the ceremony I was presented with a promotion to Sergeant!

You know, I reread my first post and it sounds kind of lame compared to other military stories but I should mention that my trade is IT related so you won't get any kind of war stories from me And I didn't get my Sergeants for this, I've been working hard in my trade for over 4 years for my promotion.

Plus my first 6 years in the military were in the combat arms so I did do SOME army stuff!

don't sell yourself short. you play an important role and without people like you the military would have a much harder job to do.
