As title state, looking for something that will work on an outdoor track, medium grip, car has a lot of adjustments!

I got it ready for the weekend event, hopefully it will hold together. The sce cells are just for novelty sake, they are beyond dead
The shell is rather ugly and beat, Id rather not show it. This may be the first "vintage" race of any kind in BC. I'll post race pics.
Yes that is a minty Novak T4 and it works well.

looking nice, mine is still in rebuild stage. still lacking the body and wings ( well not anymore, will wait till the next batch of body be made by one of the members here). will try to post some pics also to get it moving.

Your car looks good...but I "think" is see a possible problem. The angle of the rear shocks don't look right...might be the picture. Are you using the rear shock spacer between the bulkhead and the shock tower? If not, you may want to pick one up...or use a 3/16 inch spacer.

Also, are you using a servo saver? If not, then you should pick one up.

Hiway, yes I double checked the rear shock mounting with the manual, I thought it was way off too. But I did confirm the mounting and yes they are on quite the angle. Manual shows a spacer between the shock end and the arm (11) and the top is mounted behind the tower, plus the spacer between tower and gearbox.
I tried testing today but got bad glitching, I swapped out to a different motor and it seems good now. There is a servo saver installed too.
The car did drive nicley for the brief time I ran it, very quiet too, maybe the quietest car out there!
The sanyos had a few runs on them then the scr's came out and they got shelved.
Hopefully tomorrow goes well, we are anticipating several entrys in vintage, with some luck some of them will finish w/o breakage!

Well the race event over the weekend was a sucess. The old losi held its own against 9 other competitors in a mixed class they called vintage. It was the most talked about class at the 2011 Electric Dirt Challenge..... I was able to hold tq for the first 2 rounds and finished 3rd in the single 4 min A main. The start didnt go well, and I was last on the first lap, but man the car was ripping with the 19t/novak t4/ 2s lipo combo! With a little more tuning time it could run even better
The car needed constant attention but otherwise it ran great.
Cant wait until next year or sooner, it was a blast.

Which 19T motor are you running? I've got a T4 but I was concerned that a 19T would be too much for it. Apparently not.

Just an old Komodo dragon that was lying around. You could run a hotter motor, but a strong 19T can run with most anything.

I've got one of the Komodo Dragon team motors that are a bit hotter and it is definitely more than fast enough to hang with most of the brushless on the track. In a pure drag race it is neck and neck with my friend's 10.5T brushless Slash. He can't turn like I can though! I have it on my RC10 running off of a Tekin Sport esc. The Tekin is rated for more current than the T4 which is in my JRX2. However I've gotten the Tekin to go into thermal a couple of times. The modern lipo power with longer run times just don't seem to agree with it unless I gear it really crazy. It would definitely last a 4-5 minute race though. Since I have had the Tekin go into thermal, I've got some concerns about the T4 as well. Nevertheless I've already got these esc's and you can pick up Komodo Dragon's for about $25 so it's really hard to go wrong. I've held out on brushless simply due to the price and the fact that I can get the speed I need with brushed motors. I grew up with them. I don't mind cleaning them or replacing brushes every once in a while.

your ride height looks off, get those front arms closer to level and it will handle better.

The arms are not level because of the shock length it looks like. Using Jrx-Pro length front shocks with shorter Pro-SE Tower.

Thanks! That is probably it. I was working on the front end trying to understand why on earth did they run the front arms like that. I was almost going to cut a few coils off the springs to lower it.

I was trying to drive it like my Team C car.....which is a big WRONG! The jrx cannot be driven aggressively like the tc car. However the front end setup had a lot to do with it im sure.
The race was a blast none the less.
