I was doing a regular maintnence on my lunchbox when my front left steerings arms ball stud came undone. I ave not been able too find the bottom nut too replace it. What would be the best solution too fixing it?

hardware store probably. tamiya is metric, not sure but something small >1mm ish

i did not know that tamiya was metric, i was looking in the wrong are then. thank you a bunch

If you cant find one I may have a spare that will fit?

are you just looking for the nut or the ball as well? It might be useful to just check ebay or online hobby shops and pick up the parts bag from the lunchbox kit that has that hardware, so you end up with spares.

the nut and ball have a very small screw thread, I think 1.5mm or 2mm, but very tiny. Not something easily found in a standard hardware store.

well what blows is i need the little white piece you put tha ball stud into now. i lookeda little closer only too find theat i was cracked. i have a repklacement piec but i still need the nut.
now for those telling me too use ebay and stuff, i dont have an account, for the fact i have no money, but i have been looking. Sooner or later though ill probably get one.

I'll send you a set with the ball stud, nut and plastic piece for the cost of shipping. let me know if you still need this. Also, are there any other parts you need?

i put inline rc10 knuckles and axles in my midnight pumpkin including the 4-40 ball studs.. i run the hpi super star mt wheels on it anyway,. so i just had to swap out the tamiya adapters for the rc10 ones.

scr8p thats awespom exactly how did you mage too get those pieces too come together, and do you have pics of it so i cant take a gander?

remove kingpin screw, take out the tamiya piece and replace it with the associated setup. it will slide right in the arm, no filing, sanding, etc. now the kingpin screw is slightly smaller in diameter than the associated knuckle. i've never noticed any problem with a wobble at speed. but if you want to make it tighter, you could drill out the arm to 1/8" and use an rc10 kingpin to hold it all together.

i had a similar problem with my lunchbox, i used JB WELD (i used quick weld) to fix the steering knuckle. its probably stronger than the stock setup now. JB WELD belongs in any RCrs toolbox, well atleast if your limited on cash, because that stuff will fix just about anything. iv fixed radiators,

i used a small amount to "glue" the two peices together and held them in position for about 4 or 5 minutes, once that had set up well (about 10 minutes. i mixed some more JB up and "painted" it on compleetly coating the break and most of the part with a thickness of a few mm. (tip use a cut off peice of zip tie to apply the JB, and a paper plate or something disposable to mix it on since you are not cleaning this stuff off.) then i let it cure for 4hrs and reassembled. (5 min working time/4hr cure time with QUICK weld). this is a good time to do any "machining" on the JB since it is still able to be tooled easily with a razor ,drill bit, etc.

hope this helps, JB weld is pretty affordable (hardware store) and hardens like steel (tip, you must mix EQUAL parts of "steel" and "hardener", i tend to err on the side of too much hardener as too little hardener results in a "rubbery" weld.)

thanks alot turbo scorpion, i have whole bunch of jb weld and other fun little mecahnics things like that, i would of never thought of using it, but i still havent found the little nut that i need. but i will definitly try too fix that crack
