optima projects

heres a few pictures of the optimas that i am working on, currently restoring them polishing up the alum. and building two gold chassis option house javelins.

Those Optimas are going to look great. The Gold parts alone are almost worth their weight in gold.

Those celebration chassis were discounted to $28 at towerhobbies about 5 years ago. Can you say cha-ching!!

the key to polishing is sand the alum. so its free of scratchs. Finish in a fine grit like 1500 wet or i find a grey scotch brite pad is o.k. Then i put it on the 8 inch bench grinder that has a white cloth polishing pad attached ,thats when you apply some alum. polish it comes in a stick form which you rub in the pad then you use the metal on it, the pic shows a small piece that i have left, then use the billet polish it turn out real nice,

Wow. That was my first and is my favorite all wheel drive electric. One day, oh yes, I will have me another Optima. Looks fantastic. Thanks for the build-up. You are firing up my wants for this car.

Those are nice and all. But you'll get a better reception here if you start your own thread and not hijack someone else's.
