I was able to get these from a parts box at LHS and have no clue where they are from.

-My guess is they are not MIP because the outdrive cup is chrome.
-They are 2 ¾ inches long and use a 4mm locknut at the end.
-They fit perfectly on a nitro 4 tec. (But were not made for this car).

They almost look like CVD's for a Tamiya Sand Scorcher/Rough Rider.

These are no MIP for sure. MIP usually are black but they also had their shiny CVD what where chromed but both look of higher quality than these at the picture. For me they look similar to GPM ones. For what car I have no clue.

The outdrive screams "Kyosho". With that length, the CVDs probably fit the Kyosho Spider series (nitro and electric).

I was thinking the same thing, those look like Duratrax outdrives that work as replacements for the Optima-series black outdrives: # DTXC8100.

I did notice the duratrax cvd cups on towerhobbies and yes they look identicial to the ones i have. Duratrax never made a cvd that was this short though.

I'd be interested to know the cross-pin to cup pin-hole length of those...

These cvds are driving me crazy I have searched tamiya, ofna, kyosho, cen, hpi and rc10 cvds and still have no clue where these are from! If someone solves this mystery that would be awesome

I am almost 100% sure they are from a 1/10 touring car so that narrows it down a bit..........I would like to find 2 more because they are a perfect fit for my Nitro 4-Tec Pro.

Hey mike, thanks for the help. I am almost positive they are not traxxas. Traxxas usually does not make stock cvds for thier vehicles. They always use the universal "slider drive shafts".

I might be getting a little closer to solving this case. Tower hobbies has these..."DuraTrax CV Shaft Evader EXT". The thing is they are way too long at 4.9 inches (see picture). But they look almost identicial to the ones I have......so the mystery contiunes..

i think its rare for hobby shops to stock duratrax parts for their cars, but anything is possible, my guess is traxxas! lol

Finally solved the mystery today

These are GREAT VIGOR BV1 PRO CVD UNIVERSAL (73.5mm). If you happen to have a nitro 4-tec these will work.

Great Vigor has been in the RC car business since the mid/early 80's. They had 2 1/8 scale gas cars (hunter & tornado) back in the day along with a 4wd clone of the optima (beagle).

Excuse my scepticism but they don't look 73 mm, nor do do they look as if they 'd fit an optima clone or 1/8th sized car. In reference with the outdrives size they appear to be 1/10 touringcar CVD's
(73mm would be from dog-end crosspin to CVD center if they follow the common specs)
