Would you rather buy a painted body or paint it yourself

I know not many people are great with painting bodies for their RC cars and it can be a chore to knock out a decent looking body sometimes, so that made me think what would people rather have when buying a new or used RC10.
What my actual question is, if you were buying a RC10 used/rebuilt/new, would you rather it come with a new/unpainted Viper/Protech? Or would you be happy with a decent, somewhat 'period' three color paint job? Reason I ask is im going to try to sell some of my cars in the near future and I have a lot of blank bodies that I can either paint or leave it up to the customer.
Seeing what you guys thoughts are!

Unpainted, absolutely, but that's me. I don't even want it mounted.
Why not leave it up to the buyer? Paint after they buy and want it pre-painted.

I like a blank slate myself, but I would agree with Eau, let the buyer decide. List it with a clear body, but with an option to be painted, and provide some examples of your work.

Painting is a pain, but I still prefer painting myself over buying something another person painted, no matter how much better they are at it.
Definitely if you have the body, uncut and unpainted, then don't include it with the car. You'll make more by selling the car and body seperately (but do list them at the same time though and metnion the other item: making sure buyers don't hold back out of fear not to find a fitting body).
This may sound very money obsessed but hey, you're not selling for fun right?

Anyone who knows me, knows I hate painting bodies! I just don't have the patience to do much more than a 2 colour paint job.
If it was for a shelfer, and I wanted something like a box-art repro, I wouldn't mind having it painted.

there are a few things which I dislike the most in building up an R/C car
- painting the shell
- filling up the shocks
- assembling the ball diffs
- polishing the shinny graphite edges
-----> afterall, seems that I am not suitable in playing R/C cars.......

I agree with Eau Rouge. As for buying a painted body instead of doing the work? Never.

As every hour counts, and as I'd rather spend time behind the wheel or at the workbench than butchering a perfectly nice piece of lexan that someone can make something good looking of, I've started to have my bodies painted by pros lately...
sad but practical

I rather have someone else paint my bodies. I just don't paint enough of them to warrant buying any of the proper tools, and lack the necessary artistic talent. What condition a body is in, and how well its painted is a big deciding factor on a purchase for me.
I'm not beyond doing a simple paint job with some rattle cans myself though.

My painting skills suck so I have no problem paying someone for their good work.

I like buying painted, but the problem being once you paint you corner yourself into someone who likes that. The unpainted is going to fetch less as it has no value added, but your market will be larger. I bought a nice viper body, un cut, un painted, and now I wish I could have someone paint it up. I get the benefit of my desires colors and look, without the hassle.

I personally have never bought a painted body, other than ones that come with a purchase, and they are usually resold or scrapped.
However, my opinion may be skewed because I paint custom RC bodies on a fairly regular basis for other people..
I do believe they can add value if done right, I always try to go with a scheme that does not follow any particular trend, yet is cool in its own way...make sense?
