Does anyone have one of these? If so post some pics. It looks almost like a B3.

Found this online:

Not mine, but seeing as it's a Kyosho, it's automatically on my long-list. :P

I'm happy that it still looks like a Kyosho and not the 22 or the cab-forward buggies. Good on you, Kyosho!

They were early precursors to the RB5/sp1/sp2... There was also the Ultima Racing sports(budget version) and the RB type R. If you look at the exploded views of them and compare to the modern car, it almost looks as if you could upgrade one to use the RB5 front end.... I don't think the whole car could be done as the rear on the new car has a tail chassis plate, where that one the tail of the chassis was integral to the rest of the chassis.

Anyway, could be a good runner. just do your homework on sourcing parts first.

I have one. There were three versions that I know of. The Sport, RB Type R and RB Evo. The latter having carbon parts and blue anodized aluminum shock parts instead of gold. Very nice buggies and yes, very much like a B3. In fact, the wheels are interchangeable with the B3. Weird thing was it has like 5 or 6 plastic parts molded in brown. :?:

There's also a stadium truck version which comes as a Sports version and a Type R version.

I guess it is similar to how the Ultima RT-5 is related to the Ultima RB-5.

Edit: And if this is to be believed there might have been an Evo II...

Well, that certainly is interesting. That body appears to look a lot sleeker than the stock one.

Some additional investigation:

- Car specific parts start with UM4 (or KYUM4) and UMW4 (or KYUMW4).

- Besides the Ultima ST EP there also was a GP version, which I believed came in only two versions (standard and Type R), but there also was an Evo version: http://www.kyosho.ch/cap-screw-set-gp-ultima-st-evo-en.html

Just picked up a Type R from the bay. Looks to have been run once. Now I have a quandry of sorts. Do I run it (as I had intended to), or rebuild it and use it as a shelfer because I hate to run something in such good shape? Got it for a great price, so money is not the issue :) . -Jeff

I think these cars slip under the radar very easily. I would run it. You should be able to find another one if the urge hits you. Also, you can still find NIB parts on Kyosho's website if you can't find them elsewhere. And, yes, I really like the shocks too. Very smooth.

An model shop in my country supposedly still has the EP Ultima ST Sports...I wonder whether I should try to get it. Unfortunately they want 170 Euro for it...
