It's kind of a funky setup, for sure. But hey, when was the last time you saw one at all.

I figure it's pretty high up on the rare-O-meter.
I don't know about actually building it...
Look at all this stuff...

Let's just say the hardware store wasn't really internet savvy... and could just identify the stuff as old inventory, not collector's items.
I was basically about to bust when they gave me the total.
The odd thing was that they do a lot of airplane stuff, to the point of having a 1/4 scale Fokker tri-plane in the middle of the place.
Hardware, locksmith, hobbyshop,
deer checking station...

So, I went a little further South...and came back with a Losi XXX-T Spec truck. It's been assembled as an RTR complete with an unused AE "Edinger" Offroad Stock motor...

It was "on display", and it took the HS owner a while to find the box (which had a new Futaba radio and a 1500 battery pack in it). He didn't seem to notice those items...
What's the deal with this truck (I'm not a Losi guy)? Blue tires, no mention of Horizon Hobby on the box or literature. Dated 2000. Another failed attempt at spec racing?
Is it just me, or is Losi hardware junk? I found several screws not completely threaded in with their hexes stripped out... the holes really needed tapped first. I can't imagine putting this thing together with the kit supplied allen wrenches...
Was this Losi's last gasp before the Horizon buyout?
Pics tomorrow.

I think the Losi hardware is fine, but people not tapping the holes and using the crap allen wrenches is the real problem. Ive built many Losi kits (pre HH buyout)w/o a hitch. Now who knows of thier quality.
Yes it was a big failure at spec racing. I did like the blue tires though.
BTW would you ever use supplied allen wrenches to build a kit? I usually just toss them in the garbage.

Good score dude, I wish id stumble onto something like that. You gonna make that T2 a shelf queen or sell it and make some bucks?

Ya that was Losi's attempt at a spec offroad class. The tires were blue for eash ID, as were a lot of the blue parts... it was supposed to eliminate all the hop up crap and keep the cars the same (ala IROC). I think most of those cars ended up being trophies for their race in Florida every year. They make awesome trophies (littereally a trophy stand with a car screwed to the top of it)! LOL.

Ok, so here's a few pics of the latest score...

The radio is nothing to write home about, and is available if you need it. 75mhz on 81, includes Futaba reverse disable-able ESC and S3003 servo... unused...

No, but sometimes a fresh kit 3/32" comes in handy when you can't get leverage with a handled wrench.

Dunno, I probably won't build it. I've got a couple of T2's in nice shape already... PM me an offer if you think you need it.

I basically couldn't just let it sit there...
