Did I just dream this, or were certain tires outlawed in races back in the day? Could someone let me know which tire pattern it was or which tires? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Not patern per se, but the material. Certain foams were outlawed for offroad, and then Silicone capped tires were made illegal for most classes of racing. -Jeff
