I recently picked up a roller T2 for my son, He had an XTM but I got tired of waiting for parts to come and it broke often. I have a 10T that I purchased in 1993 and put together myself, wow what a great truck still have original motor. Anyway the T2 came with an associated transmission but a losi slipper clutch, I was looking on ebay and I keep getting out bid. These things are going for 30 to 50 bucks. Ive heard people are buying them up for rock crawlers. My question is does anyone out there have used parts for them or is it better to buy them new piece by peice?

You can go to your LHS and convert to the readily available T4 slipper.

This info was in the helpful links section (for a truck you may want to go with a larger spur like 85t or 87t:

Heres a list of parts you will need to make the switch.
  • Spur gear 81T (9651)
    Slipper hub (9604) x2
    Slipper pads (9603) x2
    Top Shaft (9601)
    Slipper Spring (9605)
    Slipper locknut (6629) or a 5-40 locknut
As for using a complete B4 Stealth.....it won't work without alot of modding to both the tranny case and your chassis. You can still use your stock gear cover on this conversion......all you have to do is make sure you setup your slipper and then just mark and Dremel the excess off the top shaft end.

Heres a pic of what it ends up as.
