2 questions about my gold pan

Finally got the ol RC10 gold pan running last night and a couple issues arose. First, I noticed immediately that at about half throttle the gears or either the motor made a screaming noise from time to time like there was vibration or either it needs lube. I have the original diff lube so do i just apply it on the gears itself? I believe its a standard 6 gear. Or what else does that sound like the problem could be??

After the initial test run I came in to do some steering linkage adjustments because it was way off. When I turned the system off then on again, the car would not turn the wheels to the right. Turns left perfect, but turn the wheel to the right and its EXTREMELY slow and immediately resets itself to the left like something is haywire. I'm assuming its a bad servo since its the original Futaba that came in it. I ran a brand new Futaba 3PL with it last night. So, I wanted a new servo anyway; should I get the Futaba S3010 or is there some great servo out there I need to be aware of???

Thank you in advance for any input.

That howling noise is prob a worn/ dry bashing in.the motor, causing a vibration on the shaft, the steering issue is or might be just binding IPC the bell cranks or slop in the servo saver. Disconnect the rod a.d see if the steering is free and easy in both directions.

That sound correct on the motor. It definitely sounds like alot of vibration in either the gear or the shaft or both. Since I was NOT impressed with the speed of the buggy last night I may go ahead and either go brushless or buy a faster brushed motor. Since i'm just getting back into this, I don't want to ruin the car just for more speed. I have to relearn how to drive it.

I had just installed the steering set up which came directly from a DS and it was very smooth in both directions before I attached the bellcrank to the servo. With the car off, I can move the steering either way so it leads me to believe its a servo failure.

or a binding in the link that runs from the servo to the bellcranks-,

Make sure your servo is completely plugged in to the receiver too.

I double checked that connection but i'll check again.

I know this is a dumb question but where and how should i apply the "AE diff lube"? Do I just rub it on the pinion and spur gears or is it designed to use on the internals of the transmission? or something else?

Also, suggestions on what brand and model servo would be much appreciated. I'm looking at the Futaba S3010 but i'm open to others if they are better and competitively priced.

Diff lube is for the ball differential either in the stealth trans, or the original 6 gear outer hub/spur assembly
