RIP Dan Wheldon

Just announced that Dan Wheldon was killed in a 15 car accident on lap 12 of the Las Vegas Indy Car race.

ya, that was a bad wreck. you could tell the outcome wasn't good as drivers were coming out of that meeting.

It's a terrible loss. Dan always had such a great attitude and was a great guy. We were lucky enough to get his autograph and chat with him a few years ago at Watkins Glen.

A very sad day in motorsports.
That was a nice tribute they did for him with the 5 laps. Im sure thats the hardest 5 laps those drivers ever did!

That was a nasty one for sure. We were watching the race and stuff just went everywhere. We figured it was bad as they didn't start the race as the minutes just continued to pass. RIP Dan... thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the Indy series family.

Rick and Jim Huesman were also killed in a plane crash today.

This was the first I heard of Rick and Jims accident. I was saddened by the passing of Dan but this news hits home. I've met Rick on several occasions and he couldnt have been a nicer guy. He will truely be missed in the world of offroad racing! Sad day.......

I wonder if GoDaddy is willing to put that $5 million bonus in a trust for his kids? They were willing to pay it if he finished first. What are they willing to do for finishing dead? I wish the best for his family through such a difficult next few months.

I was corrected by someone, it was Rick's little brother Jeff who was also killed, NOT Jim.
