So I had been having trouble with my DX3S scroll wheel and had to take the thing apart anyways so I decided to do a little customizing. It was looking pretty ragged anyway. I will definitely be getting a controller case or bag or something now because when I was looking at prices for controllers, even used ones seemed like a big price to pay that could of been avoided with better care.

Anyways, what turned out to be the problem was the potentiometer that registers the scrolling action of the thumb wheel. I went in took apart the pot and cleaned out all the connections (which are tiny by the way) and now its back to fully operating condition. Then I broke the Dual Rate knob which was fixed with a little dremel work and a piece of Hex Wrench.

So this is what I ended up with.
