Hi guys
After seeing these cars on here i just had to build one so after a lot of questions being asked and part huning i managed to get a car together.
Made of all new parts apart from the chassis etc, and also some of the shock components. I resisted temtation of starting to build until i had everything to hand which was really hard.
I wont bore you with the parts details as i'm sure many of you have read them many, many times before.
Hope you like it
My box of bits, stylish i know
A nice freshly powdercoated chassis sitting on top thou. Unfortunatley we only keep gloss black powder in stock so this had to do as a box of satin would cost me £80! However since doing the chassis we have changed powder suppliers and they are a lot more helpfull than our old one! They are kindly sending me a couple of kilos of satin as a sample which should be enough to do loads of chassis! More than i could ever use
I'll let you know the results
Got my least favourite parts to build out of the way first!
I've gotta say i built this step by step as per the truck manual as this is the nearest i'm ever going to get to building a new RC10 so i relished every bit!
The front end almost complete.
Completed.
Now my favourite part of the build, building a brand spanking new stealth gearbox! I did have to do a little bit of trimming on some flashing inside the case, but she is super smooth!
Starting to take shape.
Nearly there!
All done!
The keen eyed ones will see the wing tubes in the pic are brass, these were just mocked up so i could get some completed shots and have been replaced with alu tubing now!
She was run properly for the first time on friday in the first round of our vintage series and lasted 4 rounds with no breakages! The car by far out performs my old team car so was worth the money and the effort as far as i'm concerned! Just gotta improve my driving more.
Thanks to you guys on here again for your help and willingness to share your knowledge.
