I was wondering what people thought about this combo http://www.ebay.com/itm/INIX-60A-17-5T-Brushless-ESC-Motor-COMBO-sensored-RC-CAR-/170722427602?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27bfd982d2 . Also what are the advantages of switching to the stealth transmissions vs stock? How is performance improved? Thanks!

thats a new one, inix. esc looks like a hobbywing clone and the motor looks like a novak clone.

some guys have had good results with brushless and the old school 6 gear trans, but the stealth is more robust, better parts availability, has a slipper clutch.
i'd go with the stealth personally. i haven't touched a 6 gear in 20 years.

I came across that a few days ago, too--the same Inix combo. I did some research on the brand but there's not much info out there. I will say (and not from personal experience, but it is what it is) that the reviews were less than favorable...electronics failing very quickly, motor power less than the claimed ratings, etc. I wish I could find that link, there were about 6 pages of comments on the Inix electronics, but I can't find it now...

when it comes to budget electronics i stick to real, non cloned, hobbywing.
the sensorless ezruns are the best bang for the buck and the sensored xeruns are on par with the better top end "name brands".

for motors i only use proven name brands, mostly tekin and novak.

in my racers i have 2 hobbwing exruns, a tekin rs and a tekin rx8, all powering tekin or novak motors.

Whatever happened to Speed Passion? They were the big thing there for a while.

they are still around, but their stuff is basically hobbywing. hw makes most of their hardware, they write their own software/firmware, which in turn can be used on other hobbywing stuff. i've use sp motors, these are not hw but thier own design. pretty nice motors acutally, i have one of thier 3rd gen 13.5's.

hmm very interesting. I could have guessed that motor wasn't as good as I thought. I had taken a look at the ezrun systems but I decided I would rather have a sensored system. I will have to look into the xerun speed control and the sp stuff and probably a tekin motor. It looks like I haven't researched enough yet.

Also, I figured that the stealth was simply the newer and all around better transmission. I just did not understand why people would keep the 6 gear after spending lots of money on a brushless system. The stealth is very cheap and easy to find. I assumed that there had to be a certain performance aspect to the old trans.

btw thanks for all the help!
