I can't find a thread about this although I thought I read it somewhere, but can you paint a body using Parma Faskolor paints and Pactra paint? If so is there a certain process to doing it?

Though I don't have experience with this myself, I asked that same question. I didn't get much feedback but what I did get said they should be fine together. One important tip I recall is making sure to give the water-based FasKolor paints PLENTY of time to dry before spraying over them with Pactra...and to spray the Pactra first, if possible.

If anyone here has experience doing this, I'd like to know too.

I thought I had read it somewhere. Thanks for the info. I figured I would have to give the faskolor plenty of time to dry and cure. I am guessing a few days.

Just hit the faskolor with a hair dryer and its good to go. I have done this with slot car bodies before I moved to where I am now and it worked fine. Didn't work going faskolor over pactra without a good dry time but it worked pactra backer over faskolor base.

fascolor is water based is why it breaks down in water. its also easly mixed with water or other additives to reduce the paint and make it easier to spray. you should allways back fascolor if possible. the pactra is more like your automotive paint in comparison. its alot differeny constructed and does not break down in water. you have to use approved reducers to thin the paint otherwise they will seperate and you will get spotting or streaking. ive never used tamiya airbrush paints if there are any i dunno but all i can say is if ur going to use the pactra use a mask and a very well vented room that stuff is very strong. the fascolor you can hardly tell is being used. its also alot easier on your neighbors and wont get the landlord called on you if your spraying in the backyard in the house or garage liek the harsher pactra paints might.
