I ran across this article in RC Car magazine from 1993, thought you guys might like it. Jammin's car isn't the real one, but Masami's look to be real. The first page is on the bottom...

Any idea what Jay did with the RC-10 or is it hidden in his garage?

just to add a little more....

before i sent my 85 wc replica to jay to have him sign it, we spoke on the phone for about a half hour or so. i asked him about getting rid of his car. what i took from his answer was..... it's was just a car. when that race was over, it was gone over and prepped for the next race.

depending on how long he used that car before he "got rid of it", who knows if it even looked the same. might have looked like another one of his a few years later......

Is that tranny brace in the last shot a production piece or scratch? May be a stupid question, just curious.

These were definitely never produced, at least not available to the public, though you can see one on the box-art car from 1984...

I'm betting those holes were done by Curtis Husting at Associated. They were a standard pattern done for the team drivers used at the time. The hole sizes and placement look almost identical to the ones on Jay's car. I'm sure I didn't drill them myself :)

There's a template of the holes location that was published in Competition Plus and was posted in a thread on the forum a couple of years ago. It said it was the layout that was used by team drivers, someone posted it in our "lightweight chassis" thread and I managed to get that template from a member here and used it to duplicate the holes in just like in that chassis.

jjarment should make a template from his chassis because it's probably the same template that Curtis used for Jay's buggy. The Comp Plus template has some differences.

I used that CP template for quite awhile back in the day. Don't know how many A and B tubs I messed up. But back then running stock class lighter was faster.
