I'm looking to get some ball studs for a few RC10 shelfer projects I have lined up, and I wanted to know what people are using that are close to the AE 6270 and 6273(?).

I found the AE 6275 kit that includes eight steel 4-40 ball studs and nuts. Is there a part number for just the studs?

I don't want any that have hex drives, are made of exotic materials, or are anodized fancy colors. I just want some plain steel 4-40 ball studs with a hex at the base of the ball. Some of these things cost $2+ each, so I can't see spending $32+ for just ball studs.

for a shelfer just grab a scotch brite pad, throw the ball stud into your dremel, and give it a good shine. you'll really see the difference when you mount them on your rig. they'll pop with anything else shiny. why spend money on something that's going to sit. unless you're competing with the shelf, than you're going to have to move up to something exotic like unobtanium.

don't forget the metal ball in the shock rod ends as well. it'll make a difference.

That's what I've done with my old ones, but now I don't have any left and need to buy more. I like using the RPM delrin pivots in my shock ends because I hate having crusty balls.

yeah i like using them too. a lot lighter than the steel units.

Sorry, but I felt left out from all the double entendres.

Since it's a related topic, does anyone know part number or the correct ball studs to be used on the front sway bar of a gold pan rc10? I have one, and only one so I need another. I am assuming they are steel, it's black in color, and have a long skinny threaded rod/shaft.
