I was away for work last month over the holidays, which includes Xmas, New years and my wife's birthday. The location I was at had minimal cell coverage and on top of that we were located at the bottom of a gorge next to a river, which gave us no cell coverage at all. My blackberry is generally pretty good with the service provider I have for all over North America. For some reason all of a sudden every time I left my BB unplugged for more than a minute or two it would shut down, even if it had full bars and full cells Given the fact that it was the holidays and there was a lot going on at home I didn't have much patience with my phone.

I thought that once I got back to town, where coverage wasn't an issue that my BB would be okay...I was so wrong. Since I work out of town and I have my gear and truck stored out of town, I always have to call a cab and taxi it from my storage to the airport. I drop off my truck and carry my bags out of the locked gates of the storage facility and call my cab to the airport. It's about -10deg C and I usually have to wait 10mins for my cab to get to the storage facility. My BB decides to completely die before I can tell the cab company where I am Needless to say my BB pissed me off for the last time. I had to put up with this for over 3 weeks and now it's time for a new cell.

All the below photos are taken with my new iPhone GoPro video to follow soon. I will be getting a 3 watt booster for my iPhone so I don't get mad at it too. I don't want it to get too expensive to destroy phones. Once the Wraith is done with my BB, I think I will set it a blaze and then take a sludge hammer to it

You'll love your iphone, and now that it's seen what can happen I doubt it gives you any problems.

Nice! There is some Blackberry lovin geek cringing at the thought of what your getting ready to do. I have been an iphone fan. Im on my third one which is a 4s.

I wouldn't want the thread to be as useless as my BB. I had continued mt journey up and down the creek for about 15mins after the camera fell off. It went through some soupy mud and on the road later too Maybe I will do another video with a better mounted GoPro tomorrow. Hey it was fun to see that BB get beat up, I could do that over and over and over and over

Nice vid! However, it looked like the BB was gettin' the better of you for some of it.

BUT I still continued on and launched off a boulder and when I landed the BB asked me to say a command, lol. I asked it to die and then I drove through the soupy mud. After that it died and never came back. I did run it up and down the road and driveway a half a dozen times too just to add some surface scars to it

Dude, can I mail my blackberry to you and let you "fix" it for me. I hate that @#%%@$!!

I liked the part where you were diggin through the water and the back left wheel was slinging water on it.

When I was done the back was off and the battery was in the middle of the driveway. I couldn't get the battery back in at the time. I had to clean it up in the sink to see what was what, but here is how the clean BB looks back together. I had a screen protector on during the excursion and took it off after, so this is to show just how good those protector can be...maybe I should send this to Blackberry as a promotion on their screen protectors

I have a feeling round 2 will be later today. It still seems a bit too intact even though it doesn't turn on.

I wonder how an iPhone would endure such treatment?

I guess it held up pretty well, i was hoping for some chunks out of it, or some lost keys.

As long as you're running the "Being Dragged Behind An R/C Car" App while you're doing it, it should be fine.

I'm kinda hoping I don't get to do the video. So far the iPhone is not even comparable to the Blackberry. I wont be dragging my iPhone that's for sure. I will see what I can do about getting keys to fall off and possibly getting some chunks removed. I have a feeling I will need to find some way to better secure the GoPro first though.

No doubt the iphone kills the other. I recently tried an android phone(Samsung Galaxy SII), ended up returning it for the new 4s within two weeks. Probably had something to do with having had my previous 3gs for 2 years without ever a problem, as well as how smooth the apple os works. Hell, I sold it for almost what I paid for it new! They are the gold pan of phones.
