Mechanical Brushless Timing

Purchased a Novak Ballistic 17.5/GTB2 combo so I could race in the 17.5 class. My motor came from the factory with 30degrees of timing already set, and from what I read they do not recommend going down to 0.
Does anyone have experience with this motor, and how to adjust the timing to compete in a spec class without ruining it?
Thanks,
ED

The colored timing ring dictates how much you can advance it ( maybe 12 deg?) But if your running spec blinky mode, I don't believe your allowed to adjust. Also, regarding the timing 30 deg would make your 17.5 like a 30.5

I already had a Havoc 10.5 combo, so that is why I bought the GTB2/17.5(switch motors between buggys) I want to run in spec/blinky and VONATS with the 17.5 Ballistic, but now I am starting to worry this is not possible.

Vonats was a gentlemans agreement to run non boosted/ timed no actual blinky mode required if I am correct.

Yeah, there is no tech inspection at the VONATs, and I have no problem setting it to 0, but Novak does not recommend that...

I was still thinking that it was a non boost, non esc timing more than mechanical. Might be wrong-

there's plenty off boost and timing run at the vonats.
IIRC you can adjust motor timing on the motor in blinky classes, just not on the esc.

So that is why my Trinity Co27 can never make the A-main, and I was thinking it was my horrible driving
