Nails to the rescue!

Its happened to me so many times now I don't even think about it, changing out wheels and the pin slips out of the axle and magically disappears. No matter how many extra pins I have in the spare parts, they're never the right size. Grab a nail, wire cutters, snip-snip and new pin ready to go. I lost a pin from a CVD for my 1/16 nitro buggy and sure enough, nothing the right size in the small parts box. Found a nail that fit, used some loctite and no problem. :o

Wing wire also makes a good axle pin...if you can cut it.

I've always used a piece snipped off from a coat hanger.
