Nossir, we've gone as far West as Arizona, but not as far North. Alot of good drivers up that way though.

Damn goatless, made me think about when I was a kid at my uncles chassis shop. Any of these look familiar?

Yessir, Nice shots of some super latemodels from the late 70's to mid 80's. I've never seen a setup like the first pic, EVER I've seen some side wings like that, but never the driver moved so far forward. Definitely has to be rear engine. Very odd! :?

Heres a few oldies, I have TONS!! 8)

Hooker Hood, from Memphis, TN. One of the first members, if not the first, into the Sprint Car Hall of Fame. In 1966 he won 20 out of 22 starts, mostly on dirt. In 1967 he won 57 of 63 races, about 1/3 of which were at West Memphis, Ark. Then in 1968 he won 48 times. Great statistics for short period.

Yep, this car was mid engine. It was about '83-'84 and was on the cover of a few magazines after it was tested. Charlie Swartz drove this and others for my uncle Ray. If I remember correctly, it was tested at Pennsboro and turned quicker laps than the sprint cars had there. It was banned before it was allowed to compete. Was truly a unique innovation then and now.
