Modified Monster Beetle Build

I've been gathering parts for this for a while and finally got it to where I like it. It started with a complete roller that I found at a automotive swap meet which was basically stock, in decent condition, besides the body, and mostly complete. It came with a box of various parts, tires, and parts for others cars. I added it to the pile of projects and after 2 years I finally got around to completing it to what it is now.
The list of parts used include:
CCP chrome chassis, crp chassis support and bumper, crp steering arms, crp brass bushing control arms, jg frp front tower, Trinity green shocks, Lunsford tie rods, crp steering kit, Robinson Racing ball diff, sliders and counter gear setup, modified crp rear bumper, crp rear supports, crp battery pin, custom made rear cage made from a old radiator cover, nib monster beetle body set, Thorp wing, Wild Willy drivers head with custom breather tubes, Blackfoot foglights added to the original 3 row light bracket, Various dubro hardware, Various foglights added to the roof, various decals and the awesome Tecnacrafts
The radio I used for this is a MRC Top Gun with a matching esc. Great old school radio IMO. I remember the advertisment in the back of the mrc catalog bitd and always wanted one. I found one last year on craigslist with a tamiya Thunderdragon.
In the end there isn't much left of the original roller except for the rear skid, servo cover and the gearbox case. I tend to get carried away with hop up parts but they can't hang on the wall forever

Thanks Charles. I found this set at a automotive swap meet a while back mounted on a blackfoot. I think this version of wheel was actually for the blackfoot and the monster beetle had a different center design but not certain. Either way they do look killer on any car/truck

No plans of running this any time soon but yea those lights and wing would be history on the first roll

Nice Beetle-build! There's a lot that I like but there's also a bit of random stuff going on there...this build should be named Beetlejuice.
I like the orange color & the wheels (of course) but the wing looks out of place. It's not like aerodynamics were the prime function of this build.

I love the driver figure,
muy excelente! But I'd probably dye the front/rear bumpers black or orange. And I'm undecided on all the KC Hilites. Oh, and you gotta love the frame, is it polished aluminum or plated plastic or what?
I'd love to see it running!

Thanks! After drooling over all the pics of your wheels I finally found a set of my own to drool over

I have the rest of the ccp bits but figured there's enough going on and thought it would look to busy.

Thanks Marc. Yes theres a whole lotta random goin on here

The wing may be a bit much but it adds charactor to a otherwise plain beetle body. The frame is chrome plated plastic

Thanks mad racer. The chassis is a old/original frame from CCP. Good eye on the motor mount. I had the RR kit ready to go on it, but I couldn't get myself to open it as it's the only one I have

So a nice used CRP unit fit the bill. They are basically the same with the exception that RR provides a clear disk as a dirt cover for the trans.

very nice build.. not runing this build sounds like a safe bet.. Modified Monster Beetles are very easy to destroy.. i had one with a mod motor and the largest pinion i could fit in it.. i hit a little pothole on a paved road at top speed and it looked like a high speed f1 crash.. the body went to the trash and my monster beetle became another parts car..
