Can anybody identify this odd looking guard? It is moulded in 1 piece, I have seen something like it but cant place it.
Sorry for the link but it seemed a little easier for me!
First pic in wcs folder here

Thanks in advance! Stephen

Mud/dirt guard to keep debris out of the rear transmission. Either Kydex, or Carbon Fiber
Nice Sanwa 212HF been hunting one for a while now, may I use your pic as a reference?

looks like a piece to keep rocks and debris from jamming and eating the spur gear. these type of yok's were notorious for that. the front tires, in a turn, could kick up quite a bit of crap into the buggy.
i had a piece of lexan in my touring car in the same fashion.

Yep indeedy...I presumed it must have been a home made jobby in a last ditch effort to save a belt or 2! No wonder the body shells always appear to be zippered together...it must have been a nightmare on loose tracks! Cheers for the info

Nice to see another 93WCS on the forum, for such a rare car its quite amazing how many owners are on here - your WCS looks to have been used but is in cracking/great condition!
I suspect that 'guard' part is a homemade (& neatly fabricated) part, I've seen people make a small guard around the hole where the rear belt goes into the rear diff housing to stop debris/stones but not this one in front of the spur - It kind-of seems superfluous once you've fitting in your cells?

I'll have to locate the pic but Masami had a foam block around the right side transmission housing, and of course the rear bulkhead hollowed out for dirt to escape.

Do you think there is a give away as to its condition? I just cannot pick any wear at all on its vitals?
Thanks for all the input...
