Here is a trick for some inexpensive headlights: go to Lowes and where they have their flashlights & stuff, they make a LED conversion kit for the AA sized Maglight. Comes with the buckets as well. I paid $7 each for them, got a 2 AA flat battery tray from Radio shack and stuck it to the underside of the hood. I am switching them on and off with a regular old radio switch. Being they are LED's the batteries will last a good while.

That needs the Grave Digger tube chassis thats currently on eBay.

Some chassis pics!

Lots going on here.......Where to start...

I started off with a new Super Clodbuster and immediately threw together the axles and mounted it to a Clodzilla 3 chassis. Painted the chassis parts to resemble the Digger. I hated the CZ3 bottom shock mounts, so I made some clamps that attach to the links. Losi shocks.

I originally had the servo mounted to the chassis center only to realize that with the new plush suspension, it absorbed most of the movement the servo put out. Chassis would sway, wheels wouldn't turn worth a crap. It also turned way worse left than right. I also found the limits of the Tekin 610R's BEC. When going full lock on the steering for more than a few seconds, it would drop out for a few seconds.

Made some servo mount brackets and added another servo. One mounted on each axle. Got rid of the servo savers completely. The way I have it mounted to the bumper, it will give slightly when stressed so I think the servos are safe. I had to add the Castle creations 10 Amp BEC to handle the extra load of the second servo. Servos are Airtronics 94162's. Steers like a champ now.

Astro Flight "Pullmaster" truck motors. Tekin 610R ESC, Futaba 3PL-2.4G radio, Turnigy Nano tech 5000maH lipo. The radio is actually a 4 channel with mixing on the 4th channel. I used it for the rear servo since it needed to be reversed. It actually works surprisingly well!

Since the front motor needs reverse rotation, I had to adjust the timing to match the speed of the rear with the polarity swapped.

The wheels and tires came off of another Clod I recently purchased. Original white wheels painted a gunmetal silver. The rim edges were a little rough so I chucked them up in the lathe and machined a white rim around the outside. I think it looks OK. Tweaked racing wheel spacers came on the wheels so I reused them after countersinking the mount holes and putting stainless flat head screws. Tires had already been shaved down when I got them. Makes em look a little more realistic IMO.

OK, the box... For those who dont know, my son has cerebral palsy and it is hard for him to follow the RC cars when they are tooling around. Hence the LED headlights and this noise box. I have one of Ram's engine simulators inside the box and it is using the seperate 11V lipo mounted up front. It taps off of the motor leads and uses the voltage sensed to control the RPM range of the simulated engine. Pretty cool. I drive it around with it plugged in and the lights on, it definetely gets his attention! Kinda funny, when you turn it off and drive it quiet, it takes away from it a bit. The sound adds another dimension to the truck.

I STILL need to get the body mounted, hopefully in the next couple of days. See a finished product. Lord knows it has taken long enough....

Paint job is brillant as is the chassis it's going on.

I'm filing that away for future reference...great idea! How did you attach the buckets to the Lexan?
