I will need to move my 1:1 buggys around to make room in my 2 car garage. I need to fit a motorcycle, truck, Jeep hardtop and car in a 24X22 garage.



My plan is to reduce the size of my workbench, but then I lose my vise mount. Does anyone know of a portable vise solution?

Buy some heavy duty hinges,eye bolts and some chain make some work bench tops and attach to the wall so when you need them you can just fold the bench down. Or you can just build or buy a shed for the over flow

You can park your car and truck in my garage.

Not sure how much room you have/need in front of the vehicles, could you install some cabinetry/shelving on the back wall?

You might want to look at a free standing vice mount. Not sure what is available for purchase, though I've seen a few home built ones that used a car rim with a pipe and a mounting plate welded to it.

Not much room up front. Might check out a smaller bench and the wheel idea for the vise. I own a CJ-7 so I need to keep my work tools .

You could easily hang some cabinets on the front wall, the nose of the vehicles would slide under them. When you pull the car/truck in, if you point the nose to the corners of the room, you may have enough space to put the motorcycle between them and yet still have enough space to get in/out of the vehicles.

The hard top for the jeep could be hung from the ceiling over the hood of one of the vehicles. Another option would be to hang the top on the wall with the roof of the top against the wall, front edge towards the floor.

build a hitch receiver that you bolt a vice to, and tuck it under a bench when not using it. When you need it, slide it in the truck.

put the motorcycle in the back of truck, theres one down......

I would love a neon Chevy sign .

Thought about driving the bike into the bed of the truck for a minute.

I hang my jeep hardtop from the ceiling.
6 lag hooks,
1 2x4,
4 ratchet straps.

4 hooks go in the ceiling joists, and one on each end of the 2x4

I drive the jeep under the hooks, detach the hardtop, slip the wood under the rear of the hardtop, and connect the straps to the 2x4 and the ceiling.
up front I connect the ratchet straps to each other forming a cradle for the brim part of the hardtop. then just lift and ratchet them until the top is near or snug to the ceiling

it costs less than $50 and makes a one person operation out of getting the hardtop off, stored, and back on.

I use the wood under the back of the hardtop because I read that just looping the straps, or hooking the edge, can cause the bottom of the fiberglass to bow. with the wood sling underneath I haven't noticed any bowing. hooking to the upper edge around the window would alleviate this, but then I would not be able to get it as high due to needing clearance between the hooks for the ratchet strap mechanism.

I save space by keeping my Jeep at the dealership...

But they sure are fun! I rented one a few weeks ago in Sedona. Now I want to empty my pockets, Thinking about the Modern Warfare edition, I can get that right off the lot, but the Orange Jeeps are calling me so I might order one with all the goodies on it instead, so cool!

%100 correct!! Mine is a 1982/83 CJ-7 with an AMC 360. I think I invested enough in Jeeps to buy 2 fully loaded Z06s.

And when you look at it it you might pay $500.00
