I'm looking for info on this infamous car. Been racing for 25 years and just this year went to Kyosho and I love the RB5wc/sp and recently picked up a used original TypeR and would appreciate hearing from any fellow fans.
thanks

Are you mean kyosho ultima rb type R? not the rb5,be released in 1998, very similar as associated rc10 b3, your pic show the upgrade version ultima rb type R evolution, released in 2002-2003, equip CVD, Ti shock shafts, bule shock caps, blude aluminum kits etc.

I have an RB5 Type R and it's a pretty good buggy. The shocks are fantastic. Very durable.

The geometry and design is very similar to a B3 so it will also drive like one. I'm not sure on the transmission but I know the shocks are nice.

type R evolution is very hard to find ,may be can find in Japan, with many upgrades, type R using the proline rims and tires as associated b3, like that equip the losi shocks on lazer zx-s feel surprising.

The picture posted is the box art of the car I have and I have the box which is the same as the NIB pics provided. My mistake calling the RB5 Type R. The box is dated 2000.

Any source for parts? mostly a new body and wheels of course. I don't think I need any more actual parts as when I do drive it great care will be taken to not bust the crap out of it. Were there any prototypes ? not a top plate like the pro-x but a tub car like the RB.
thanks all, lets see your built Type R's !

I just got it today and when taking pics noticed the horrid phillips head screws ( I FKN hate those).
Were those stock? If someone has manual or parts list I would appreciate a copy as I have no paperwork other than a partial decal sheet. I don't care if they were original they suck I'm changing that shit out tonight! And what is that thing on the rear shock tower? some kind of transponder holder? cool car, and by far the smoothest shocks Iv'e ever felt.

after looking at more pics that it is the stock hardware and even though I don't like it (didn't like em when I had ultimas and optimas either) I'll leave it stock and just replace a couple that look incorrect. Plenty of ti and alu bits in the spares bin to outfit the whole car but OG is better in this case.
Thanks for the links on the manual, I hadn't bothered checking there yet.
In between finishing an Exo Terra for sale I can't stop playing with those Type R shocks.... amazing.
funny when I think back to putting Kyosho Gold shocks on my rc10's, now big bores on my Exo Terra, a complete circle.
