Gold pan Buggy into a truck?

I've got these two 10's and am having a blast with them. I am getting bored ripping up and down the street and don't have a local track so I am debating getting some truck tires on there and taking advantage of a huge grass area behind my place, with lots of little rolling hills that should make for some good action.

I've got a stealth tranny in one and it is set up for modern tires....

Question is, am I going to destroy the drivetrain with the bigger tires? I have the Andy's truck arm kit on it and a servo from an SC10.

If anyone has any feedback on problems I should be aware of so I don't ruin these classics I would appreciate it.

Thank you!

You can run any 2.2 truck tire on it with no problems but id go with 87 spur gear and 17 to 24 pinion depending on what motor you use.I use to run imex puller tires on mine in the grass and itd fly lol.But truck conversion wheels make it wider than putting 10t wheels on it would be.If want to convert to a goldpan 10T i probably have enuff parts to do that you would need to put your rears on front and get a set 1.32 rear shocks.Only difference in 10t and rc10 is the front noseplate and bulkhead and tower in front.Steering bellcranks and rear tower front and rear arms and hub carriers and body mount.I have all this stuff if need it to do this.DON
ps:parts are white also have some in black

Thank you! I had heard some horror stories about wrecking drivetrains quickly with the heavier tires - I have rc10t tires but will need a few things.

Am I correct in that (if I get a decent ratio with the spur and pinion) I will not have to change anything out inside the tranny?

Sorry if I am missing something obvious but I want to see this thing cruise in the grass but can't handle any more expensive ebay orders

I would love to hear about what you have, I am going to look into what it takes to get b/s/t access and maybe we can work something out to get this puppy moving!

I like the idea of being able to get a decent truck out of one of these since I have had them since an old babysitter passed them down to me around '89

Thanks again!

The stealth transmissions are the same on the buggy and the T. Just gear it lower to reach the same final ratio.

THE 10T uses the same stealth tranny it uses the 87 spur gear.I have a set of truck conversion wheels that sit out wider and have the front longer axles and front bearings. For running in the grass its the cheaper alternative to making buggy into truck rather than a 10t conversion.DON

Thanks - I have that kit as well, but the tires are shot, those extended axles are really great for messing around with different combos - do you know who made that kit? I'll put up pics tonight to clarify if we are talking about the same thing

Here is the axle I have next to stock, and 1 front and 1 rear wheel

Is there any modern wheels that are offset like this anymore? or better yet, tires that will fit these?
