So what is it that I have here?

Got this truck and remote at a yard sale, got the whole package deal for $3.00. Is this thing all original or is just parts thrown together? The truck is pretty much beat up. It needs new front rims as they are toast and missing bearings on one side. The steering is going to have to be rebuilt as it is very sloppy and worn. Trying to find parts doesn't look like an easy task, any suggestions?

$3?
Dude!

I can't say how exactly much is original, I'll have to leave that to the more experienced members.
But I know it isn't 100% because I see a few parts that are definitely not OEM.

Fix it up, it's not that bad. The parts are available and it will be well worth the effort in my opinion.

And when you get it all fixed up, drive it like you stole it!

'Cuz you did!

Looks like a stock RC10T. You could dye all the white and purple parts black and give the rest a good cleaning. It should look pretty good.

Thanks Terry, I love that saying " Drive it like you stole it " I'll keep an eye out for parts for this thing and maybe I can have it up and running before summers end, but i just don't see to many parts floating around for this. I'm hoping that I can maybe use parts from other models that might be more readily available, cause I'm not seeing a lot floating around out there.

At closer look it does appear to have the buggy steering. Just search for the RC10T steering and you should be able to find the parts. As for the wheels, are the actual wheels bad or just the bearings? Bearings can be replaced for $1 a piece.

Well that's good news on the steering issue, but yeah the rims are screwed. This guy ran this truck hard and it looks like he "Drove it like he stole it " and ran it into the ground. Guess that's why he was willing to give it up for the $3.00, lol... I'm in no hurry to get the truck up and running as I have the RC10 buggy that I want to get on the road first, but I'm more curious if it was original or just slapped together parts and if I can use parts from other trucks to make this thing road worthy or not... I really appreciate all of the help on this, you guys are the best....

I wouldn't really say it is slapped together. The truck and buggy share many parts such as the chassis, rear bulkhead, motor mount, and other small pieces. The front end unique to the truck, of course the arms and the rear shock tower. Many different truck wheels will fit but I don't have the #'s at the moment.

I really need to stop at yard sales!! I always have my wife check as we drive by, but we never see anything..

Great deal and I am sure with a couple more bucks it would be a great runner. You could even convert it into a buggy if you are interested.

the only vital part I see missing is the front nose tubes. Besides the ESC and body it seems pretty much all there. Should be a great runner for the starting price you paid. Hard to buy a $50 rc10t off ebay to break down for parts though when you only paid $3 to begin with but by the looks of it you won't need to...
